Hot glass shouldn’t rush your install.
The glass is hot. Your slip is drying. The film isn’t where you want it yet.
You go to shift the film and one spot has already tacked. Now you’re lifting, rewetting, and trying to recover the piece instead of finishing the install.
Keep your slip wetter, longer.
TackStop slows water evaporation in the slip mix you already use. That gives you more time to float the film into position, dial in the edges, and get your squeegee passes underway.
Use it when direct sun, hot glass, or a big pane has you racing the water. It’s made for automotive and flat-glass installers who need the film to move before it sets.
Keep your usual slip mix.
Mix your commercial slip solution at its recommended rate, add TackStop, and gently blend. Position the film and squeegee thoroughly as usual.

What is TackStop?
An additive for your slip mix. It slows water evaporation on hot glass so the film stays workable longer while you line it up.
Does it replace my slip solution?
No. Add TackStop to the commercial slip solution you already use, prepared at its manufacturer’s recommended rate.
How much do I add?
Start with 1 fl oz per US gallon, or ¼ fl oz per 32 fl oz spray bottle. In extreme conditions, increase by ½ fl oz per gallon, up to a total of 2 fl oz per gallon.
Which films is it made for?
Designed for pressure-sensitive window film adhesives, where early tack is the problem. It has also been used with CDA films in field tests. Try it with your film and slip mix before a full install.
